Yes, Leicester’s form this season has been utterly awful, but I don’t see how Leicester can think that sacking Claudio Ranieri is going to make their results better, because if you look at the managers that are being rumoured to replace him, you see nothing near to the managerial quality of Ranieri.
Another reason why Leicester shouldn’t have given Ranieri the boot is that he won the Foxes the Premier League last season and even though the resultsĀ this seasonĀ haven’t been good, you should never sack a manager who has won you the Premier League at the odds of 5,000 to 1!
Some people say that the reason Ranieri has been shown the door by Leicester is because he’s lost the dressing room. However, Leicester caretaker boss Craig Shakespeare has denied those claims.
But an odd thing about the sacking is Leicester issued a statement a few weeks back giving Ranieri their ‘unwavering support’ and also he was given a contract after winning the league which was meant to last until June 2020. But contracts and supportive messages seem to count for nothing in this day and age of football.
